Redskink is founded on a very strong belief that modern, distributed technologies like the Internet, and smaller, more intelligent and more efficient hardware systems are a key component of building sustainable business.

If we are more efficient and more agile in our business processes, we are able to incrementally reduce waste, be innovative in our product/service delivery and are better able to manage risk.

We are a loud, and unrepentant supporter of open-source. We also walk that talk too - our business is Windows free and will remain that way. We keep a few copies of XP around so we can serve our clients - but our servers and desktops run Ubuntu Linux, and our website and back-end is all built in Django and Python. We are faced with the fabulous notion, that no matter how big we get, our server and desktop software bill will be the same - zero.

We do however, have the benefit of many years of experience in technology. One of the biggest hurdles for a business coming to open-source is the sheer variety of solutions available. A concerted and long-lived smear campaign from the proprietary software industry does not help either.
