So What Is Sustainability?
Many of us have been led to think that sustainability entails costly and complex changes in our businesses – changing processes, upgrading equipment, changing the way we commute, and using ‘green’ energy.
But sustainability is much simpler than that.
Sustainability is simply doing business today in such a way that we still have a business tomorrow.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realise that this is how we have always done business.
The only thing that has changed is that, as a race, we are coming to realise the consequences of unfettered consumption – that if we continue consuming our resources today in the way that we have in the past, we are threatening our goals of still being here tomorrow.
So sustainability is about making better choices.
It is about reducing waste in our lives.
It is also the single biggest opportunity for us as business leaders and managers to innovate and grow since the industrial revolution (which, to the astute reader, is why we are in this predicament in the first place, but that is history).
Change is hard. It is even harder when we are unclear on what changes will make the biggest difference. We all know what gets measured gets managed, but what do we measure? And how do we manage something that we have never had to consider before?
That is why Redskink is here.
We specialise in environmental change management projects.
We are here to help you leverage existing technologies and internal systems to waste less, to create new opportunities for your business, to work together to find ways of doing business that do not trash what is currently our only home, and, most important of all -
